Evelyna Derhovanessian and Graham Pawelec attended the BASE-II meeting and presented data on correlations between immune phenotypes, CMV and socieconomic status of the BASE-II subjects.
Jan-March 2014: Julia Humes,
an ERASMUS student from the University of Newcastle, completed her Bachelor thesis in the TATI group. Her thesis focused on the characterisation of pH regulatory proteins in melanoma.
Feb 15, 2014: RiskImmune
The majority of potential partners struggled through the atmospheric storms to London to brainstorm the RiskImmune proposal. RiskImmune was eventually submitted by G. Pawelec in response to the EC Horizon 2020 PHC-1 first Call on March 11, 2014.
Oct 30, 2013: Henning Zelba left the TATI Group
to join the Department of Immunology of the University of Tübingen.
Oct 2013: G. Pawelec was invited speaker at the Cold Spring Harbor Asia Conferences.
The conference on Tumor Immunology and Immunotherapy took place in Suzhou, China from October 28 to November 1, 2013.

June-December 2013: K. Wistuba-Hamprecht was in Singapore with Prof. Ng Tze Pin (NUS) & Dr. Larbi (A*Star)
performing CyTOF-analysis of “immune-phenotyping studies” with unique cohorts. The CyTOF (Masscytometer) is the next generation of Cytometers and allows the observation of 35 markers in parallel. Kilians visit was part of his Ph.D thesis and granted by a scholarship of the “Baden-Württemberg Stiftung”.

February-April 2013: N. Janssen did an internship at the "Paterson Institute for Cancer Research" (PICR) in Manchester
from February 11th to April 5th. The project focused on the genetic modification of primary cells with chimeric antigen receptors specific for the 5T4 tumor antigens and the analysis of the function if these targeted T cells in vitro.

June 12, 2012: ImAginE 2012 Meeting in Tübingen
The participants of the ImAginE 2012 meeting visited the Friedrich Miescher laboratory in Tübingen Castle, where DNA was first isolated in 1869.
They also visited the Alzheimer plaque. The ImAginE members working on AD were particularly interested in its histological staining dark green colour. The plaque says: “Alois Alzheimer (1864-1915) lived in this house in 1886/87 as a student. He presented the disease that is named after him for the first time in 1906 in the local Psychiatric University Clinic.”

March 27, 2012: Visit of Dr. Esteban Hernandez-Vargas: Lecture Immunosenescence
GerontoShield project: Dr. Hernandez-Vargas is a member of the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (Braunschweig) and gave us a lecture on immunosenescence. Further cooperation was discussed.
